The ‘Kidney Kar Rally’ is fast approaching … travelling from Gundagai to Cootamundra, via Mt Gambier in Australia.

This famous charity event known as the Kidney Kar Rally will be held during the month of August. The event will last for 9 days from 15 to 23 August 2014. The rally has been organized by Kidney Health Australia.  Founded in 1968, Kidney Health Australia is a not for profit organization whose focus is to promote good kidney health through education, advocacy, research and support. 

Health bound …

Sources confirmed that Julian Smith will be again driving the hotted up 1974 Holden Kingswood V8 rally kar with his father Ian as navigator (see photo above).  Ian, a retired farmer (3000 acres) from Boort Victoria Australia will be up for the challenge.  They will be representing Kar 1995 ‘Black Ops’ proudly sponsored by Diamond Protection.  The Kidney Kar Rally is the longest running event conducted by Kidney Health Australia and the rally kars cover over 4,000km in areas including South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria among others. 

Last year the rally raised over $600K …

 The funds collected from the rally will be used for helping kids with kidney related issues as well as for other young adult programs.  Last year this even raised over $600,000.  Every year, all the rally teams participate in the competition in order to raise funds for National Kidney Kids Programs through Kidney Health Australia. The Kidney Kar Rally participants come from various parts of Australia and travel in all kinds of vehicles and not just by rally equipped kars.  Anyone can participate with a road registered vehicle.
